Project Description
The scope of this analysis was to verify the structural strength of the Helideck Structure which is located at the fore of the superstructure of a heavy lift vessel.
The calculation is performed as per the DNVGL rules. The Ultimate Limit State (ULS), Accidental Limit State (ALS) and the Serviceability Limit State (SLS) methods have been followed.
Yield and Buckling check have been performed during this analysis.
First, a beam model has been prepared, that defined the scantlings of the beams of the helideck structure.
Then, a 3D model has been created where the helideck beams and gusset plates have been modeled with shell elements.
